WHAT HAPPENS
IF THE UNIT DOES NOT PASS A PHYSICIST TEST?
In the rare event that a Physicist does not certify a system, C-ArmsUSA will pay the cost of updating the system to comply, pay your Physicist's bill if he/she has to return to your location, and/or replace the system with an acceptable one if it cannot be brought to acceptable approval levels.

- collimate the beam to only include the area of interest
- use a reasonable focal distance
- avoid repeat exposures
- have a warning light outside the procedure room to signal others
- have radiation signs on the doors
- keep people under 16 and pregnant women from assisting in procedures
WORK SAFE
Keep yourself safe
- Wear lead aprons, gloves and sleeves if you are working within 40 inches of the x-ray head
- Personnel should never be in the primary beam
- Patients should not be held during an exposure
- Those people not involved in the procedure should be excluded from the procedure room
- Dosimeters should be worn to identify unacceptable exposure to x-rays
- The C-Arm operator should stand at least six feet from the patient and well away from the beam
- Tube current and potential should be monitored and recorded weekly to determine correct operation
- System should be calibrated and tested each year
